Looking ahead

January already kicked into touch, the march of crossed out days snaking across the calendar into February, Candlemas, Groundhog day gone already and the meteorological prognostications made for the next six weeks, and before we know it the march of time will have reached - March!
By virtue of an Order by the 41st Parliament of Canada, First Session, Motion M-293 was passed asking that the month of March be declared Read an E-BookMonth.
The Order reads:

That, in the opinion of the House, the government should: (a) recognize that the ePublishing industry has created economic opportunities for entrepreneurs, authors, publishers and e-reader manufacturers; (b) recognize that e-books present significant benefits for seniors and children; (c) recognize that e-books are an environmentally-friendly alternative to books; (d) declare the month of March as "Read an E-book Month"; (e) support the goals and ideals of "Read an E-book Month; and (f) encourage Canadians to observe "Read an E-book Month".
Read an ebook month is coming up.  All of March is recognised as read an ebook month in Canada and the first week has been adopted as read an ebook week further afield. Information on the week is pretty scant at the moment. However in respect of the merit granted by the Canadian parliament regarding reading and literature by acknowledging the status of the month expect this site to be offering something, maybe even for nothing. I will have smashwords discount codes for the Grange novels.

More details to follow as and when they become available.

Right, that's the potentially shameless book plug sorted.

On with other things!
